The NARS Planning Committee will review every nomination, and the more information you provide, the better the Committee can understand what makes your nominee stand out.

How Does the NARS Awards Process Work?

We want the NARS Industry Awards to be meaningful—and that starts with having a process that is fair, transparent, and credible.

The winners aren’t simply chosen by whoever gets the most votes.

Each award is determined through a three-part process, with three independent components carrying equal weight:

Reviewing the Nominations

Once nominations close, the NARS Planning Committee reviews the nominations and narrows the field to the finalists.

The Committee knows this industry. They understand the awards, the criteria, and what it takes to make a meaningful contribution to the recovery profession.

This is why the details in your nomination matter.

The more specific information you provide, the better the Committee can evaluate your nominee and determine who advances to the next stage.

Once the finalists are selected, the industry gets to vote.

Industry voting will take place in February 2027, giving professionals across the recovery and lending industry the opportunity to recognize the people they believe deserve the honor.

Every vote matters.

And every person gets one vote.

🔎 ⅓ — Third-Party Verification

Because the Results Should Be Legit

We take the integrity of the awards seriously.

Once industry voting is complete, the results will undergo third-party verification to ensure the vote is legitimate and accurately represents the industry’s choices.

The verification process will identify and remove duplicate or fraudulent submissions—including instances where the same individual attempts to vote multiple times using different email addresses and/or there is evidence where people are ballot stuffing.

One person. One vote.

The goal isn’t simply to count votes. It’s to make sure we’re counting legitimate votes.

Three Steps. Equal Weight. One Winner.

The NARS Industry Awards are determined through three equally weighted components:

The NARS Planning Committee reviews the nominations and selects the finalists.

🗣️ ⅓ — The Industry

Industry professionals vote for the finalists.

🔎 ⅓ — Verification

An independent third party verifies the voting results and removes duplicate or invalid submissions.

No single person or group determines the outcome.

That means when someone receives a NARS Industry Award, it means something.

2027 NARS Industry Awards

Field Agent of the Year

This award honors the field agent who has demonstrated outstanding professionalism, possesses a deep understanding and commitment to lenders’ needs and full compliance with industry standards … all while protecting the consumer’s rights and safety.

Service Representative of the Year

This award honors the individual who has shown exemplary commitment to serving their clients’ needs and has consistently done so. This person demonstrates a high level of integrity, fosters a positive workplace environment, and displays a strong commitment to the mission and values of our industry.

Vendor Representative of the Year

This award honors the individual who has consistently shown exemplary commitment to serving the recovery industry. This person demonstrates a high level of integrity, has had a positive impact on the industry, and displays a strong commitment to the mission and values of our industry.

Agency Owner of the Year (East)

This award goes to an owner who has at least a three-year commitment of excellence within their company and the collateral recovery industry. This person should also be able to document their commitment to professional education and compliance training as well as the use of innovation and creativity in enabling their company to prosper and extend its reach in the collateral recovery profession. Nominations should include one for a recovery owner whose company is located east, and one west, of the Mississippi.

Agency Owner of the Year (West)

Female in Leadership Award (Agent or Lender)

This award honors an agent or lender who demonstrated a deep commitment to the advancement of women leaders at their organizations in 2025. You may nominate any woman within the agent/lending industry who has ushered in lasting and impactful change for women through their leadership.

Lender in Leadership Award

This award recognizes an individual who exemplifies leadership in our industry through collaboration, service, and innovation. This accolade celebrates their strategic acumen and ethical decision-making, setting a high standard for leadership in the lending sector.

Agent in Leadership Award

This award acknowledges an individual who demonstrates exceptional leadership qualities within the field of asset recovery. This award honors the individual recovery agent for their service to the industry, ethical conduct, and commitment to professionalism. The individual is an example of the high standard of leadership we all need to move our industry forward.

MVP Award (East)

This award is given to two recovery agency employees who have shown the highest level of leadership, initiative, resourcefulness, and work ethic. These individuals consistently strive toward work and personal goals and exceed expectations on the job. They are simply outstanding performers. Nominations should include one for a recovery employee located east, and one west, of the Mississippi.

MVP Award (West)

Art Christensen Award

The Art Christensen Award honors an industry veteran who has stood the test of time. He has served the industry well and has improved the industry for those still in it. This person is well-respected by his peers, is a contributor, a thought leader, and overall great person. This award recipient is selected by the NARS planning committee.
